Cryptic Matter
This December, VLEPO Gallery presents the photgraphy of Keren Moscovitch in an exhibition entitled UNEARTHLY REMAINS. Moscovitch is the winner of VLEPO Gallery's April juried Show, I SEE2, an annual group show juried by independent curator Kari Conte.
The series of photographed tableaux in UNEARTHLY REMAINS reflect a reaction towards death and loss through an exploration of domestic objects that have been passed on over generations. Approached from a psychological point of view, Moscovitch is interested in focusing on the objects' ability to trancscend their physicality and move into the spiritual realm fueled by their connection to the past.
december's featured flatfile artist is lazarus nazario. nazario is known for her oil paintings on panels and found objects. elements of the surreal and reference to art's history are used in her works which powerfully reflect contemporary life. |
