I SEE 2

VLEPO GALLERY presents I SEE 2, its second annual juried show on April 2. It will be exhibited until Sunday, April 24th. The opening reception will be held on Saturday, April 2^nd, from 3 to 6pm.

Curator, Kari Conte was asked to participate as juror for this year’s I SEE 2’s juried show. A native New Yorker, Ms. Conte, has worked as director of Apexart in NYC. She is also a former Program Associate at the Newhouse Center for Contemporary Art at Snug Harbor Cultural Center (2001-2003) and Assistant Director of Vivian Horan Fine Art (1998-2001). At the Newhouse Center, she managed the studio program and worked on exhibitions including Fresh Kills: Artists Respond to the Closure of the Fresh Kills Landfill and The Invisible Thread: Buddhist Spirit in Contemporary Art.

This year’s juror’s selections includes the works of the following artists: Robert Bunkin with two works of acrylic and marble meal on canvas entitled Touch #6 and Touch #8; Anita Cimino “Moonlight Water Ritual” mixed media; Emily Gear “Cycle” using pigmented beeswax, cheesecloth, ink, magazine images and paper; Keren Moscovitch inkjet images “Plant Life” and “An Act of Spillage”; Kristi Pfister’s oils on tile; Lou Russo digital photograph “Oh Night of Mine”; and Kira Yustak acrylic on canvas entitled “Shipwrecked”.

The recipient of a solo exhibition in our 2006 exhibition schedule will be announced on April 2nd at the opening reception of I SEE 2.
